Re: New Brunswick stones
I hope to get some more pics up soon, I was working in NB & brought home as many stones as I could. "Do you have a bunch of rocks in your bags?" they asked me at the x-ray machine in the airport while giving their heads a shake.
I wish I could have brought more home or had more time to search, the stone above & a few others I'll show later I found by randomly pulling over @ a stream I was passing about a half hr before darkness set in.
Some stones I found there had this amazing patina to them. The above stone was simply washed in water & the photo is taken dry, inside with a flash. I wish I had payed more attention at the time but I think it was the portion underground that had the shiny skin. Is this due to being in wet sand over time? I would love to develop the same patina over the entire stone, any ideas?

Thanks for the replies, there are some interesting colours in the stone, greyish greens, whites & golden to chocolate browns.
I took another pic today by daylight without the flash, maybe the colour will show up better.
As far as the size of the stone, I can't find my tape measure but it's about 1 foot by 18 inches I'd say.
