I your opinion what is the very best source (book, video, etc.) for clear and concise instructions for pruning, trimming and perfect ramification on deciduous trees? I am aware of pruning and trimming tecniques but would like to find the very best information for perfect ramification of branches. Question

Thanks in advance

Thanks Jim
I have read several different Books. The Best information I found so far is in The Art of Bonsai Design by Colin Lewis. The section on Elms has a pretty good description. I was just looking for more on the subject.

Tom, I think ramification is very much like everything else in this endeavor. It seems much more complicated than it is. In the end, it's about endless hours/months/years of tedious attention to detail. At least, that's what I've picked up thus far.

The Adams latest version of the Japanese Maple book is great. It has served me well.

Good luck,
Ed

Thanks Ed. I welcome the thought of a long term process. I have only been into bonsai for 3 years now. I have discovered in this short time that having a BONSAI TREE is not the hobby, it's the progression of the tree. The success of keeping it alive and thriving and the slow process of improving the tree gradually. My whole approach and interest has changed since i began this wonderful journey into bonsai.
