Redwood forest project
Below is a fairly young (ranging from 1 - 5 years old) Dawn Redwood 7-tree group planting.
I tried to give the effect of perspective by the below principles:
1. Select odd number of trees, and preferably in varying thickness and height.
2. Place the larger trees in front of the smaller ones.
3. Place the larger trees higher than the smaller ones; building mounds for each tree.
4. The group closer to you (5 trees) will have greater distance between the trees, and the group farther away (2 trees) will have smaller distance between the trees.
5. The trees in the front will have the lowest branches placed higher than the trees in the back.
6. The trees on the edge of the forest will lean slightly outwards.
Slight imperfections in the gap and branch placement was made purposefully to make the composition look more natural. Let me know your feedback.
Thanks,
Aman
