wee dilemma Empty wee dilemma

bought a small cotoneaster last year. repotted it at a slightly different angle, and I still can't see where to go with it in it's existing form. I am considering chopping the trunk in half, below the lowest foliage because there's a nice taper up to that point. I've been advised that this is fatal to pines and conifers. Would it apply here too?

If it's healthy, it should sprout even on old wood when chopped back hard.

What a very talented tree. wee dilemma Icon_biggrin And in a month it could be the UK's Eurovision entry. Couldn't do any worse than previous entrants.

I'm tellin' ya! Guys just can't do the multi-tasking thing!

And apart from which, I quite like the thought of a singing tree - it balances things up nicely. If I might paraphrase Clint Eastwood:

"I talk to the trees....
that's why they put me away!"
