So, I got a call from Tony last night, inviting me to a barn raising (well, greenhouse) at his place this weekend.
Result? It snowed like hell this afternoon after being wall-to-wall sunny blue skies for the last few days. *sigh*

Snow I can just about take, but the (seemingly) endless heavy frosts leading to pockets of hard ice on the roads and pavements/sidewalks is the real annoyance here. Think we're developing permafrost.

Ah well! It makes a change from grey skies and constant rain.

Some of the Islands here in Denmark are now in walking distance, no need for ferry's Wink.
Today its a very nice sunny cold day, birds are singing, could it be a sign of............ spring?
I really hope so!

Maybe it isn't singing at all. It just might be "bird speak" for "I wish this damn snow would go away, I'm freezing my tail feathers off!"

I can't tel if my azaelias are dormant or too frozen to wilt. Either way, right now they're looking good!

As for me, I'm freezing my globally warmed arse off, for the second winter in a row! What a Face

I am working long days outside starting 0.700 in the morning and believe me I am done with this long cold winter now.
Weather broadcast today: Freezing nights and windy cold days.

Yes, thanks for that Bob.

As it happens, it took us all day to get it up (well, he's not as young as he used to be). All the hard work is done for you now mate, all it needs is a bit of fettling and it'll be finshed. Unless, of course, Carolyn decides it's just too bloody big and we have to take it down again.

Greenhouse, my arse. You could build a bloody nuclear sub inside that thing!

Looking good. I foresee many a happy hour spent in there Tony. An escape from the elements that'll do wonders in extending your growing season and allow you to tackle new things. Take care with the glazing!

Sod the glazing! What about my thighs?

So, did you and Bob manage to get that little bit over the door to go straight?

And did you get the glass in? (And be honest, how many did you break?)

The weather is conspiring against me to finish my greenhouse... I'm with Jim I HATE SNOW.

If anyone next winter sings 'I'm dreaming of a white Christmas' I swear I will throttle them Evil or Very Mad

But on the plus side - you could maybe make some bucks by offering to host a Winter Olympics event in that greenhouse!

When was that taken? Is your snow happening "live" or was that yesterday? Just so I know whether to expect it to come up my way.

I always wonder what people are trying to hide when they have big hedges. Some times its because they want to walk around their garden with no clothes on. Being a hedge cutter i always try and get the client to agree to cut the hedge to knee height. Twisted Evil

If Tony chooses, to walk around the garden at this time of year with no clothes on( perish the thought).I'd imagine you could cut the hedge down to ankle height, without worrying the neighbours too much. Shocked

Well, judging by the lack of response, me thinks Smithy hath hit the nail on the head. Now we know why your trees are so twisted. Twisted Evil
