Sad to report that Dale Cochoy, bonsai artist and Potter living in Ohio, well known to the Bonsai Community passed away peacefully today after a long illness.

Aw no. He was a great contributor here on IBC some years ago.

I have a couple of his pots which he kindly sent over the ocean to me.

He will be missed.

Very sad news, John. I wish the best for his family.

Dale was a great guy & a very proficient bonsai potter. I recall one of his 5-sided pots entered into the creative class of the First Juried Bonsai Container Competition at the U. S. National Bonsai & Penjing Museum.

I have a stoneware companion pot from Dale that looks like a woven basket in the shape of a canoe-- a gem in its design & execution.

Dale would attend many & far-flung bonsai symposia as a vendor. He attended one in Japan that he described on IBC. I recall him describing his joy at riding with his wife in her PT Cruiser.

Dale shared many interesting posts & great memories.

Pass along condolences to the family. There are fewer and fewer of us from the early days of the IBC that are still around.
