Taxus Project Empty Taxus Project

Post  quatrefi Tue Sep 29, 2015 9:52 pm

Hello here's a Taxus created by Hervé Dora it's been grown in the field for 4 years from a small plant.
Hervé is a very talented bonsaï enthusiast in France, one of my favorites.

The project is here to be done, if you have ideas!
Thanks

Never seen a Taxus look like that ! Juniperus, yes: they follow the live vein(s) where the sap goes one way, but Taxus would backbud and resume an upward growth, leaving the twisted part die.

It can be a nice project though, but closer to topiary art than bonsai in my opinion.

Another style to add on Arthur's thread on styles? Classical, naturalistic, etc. (...) and last but not least, "Burtonesque"?

Yes, that's what they called their experiment several years ago. Their idea was to recreate a fantasy world similar to Tim Burton"s. They do other things, mind you, some of their creations are top notch really.

Personally, I gave up LSD and magic mushrooms some 40 years ago, before I got stuck to the ceiling Laughing

They also commit that kind of thing on Japanese maples, I'm sure that they posted some photos here. Frankly, that's not my cup of tea but they do have a fan-club, so why shouldn't they carry on?...
