principles of bonsai design

Is the latest book in print, authored by David De Groot. It's available thru the American Bonsai society. Hardback and just full of illustrations and photographs.260 pages

and 15 chapters. My book was received today....

If it is even half as good as its predecessor, it is worth whatever it costs. I no longer purchase books, but, I bet this one is a keeper.

He designed the book NOT as a "how to" book but a book to understand WHY. He helps you understand japanese, chinese and natural styles. My favorite is chapter 14 on display. I couldn't put it down last night. I read as much as I could to just read....but I will go back and read it for content and my understanding.

His first book, basic bonsai design was first published in 1995.

I know the next one he'll start working on is maintenance for bonsai.
