Winter tips

Could you give me some tips for mild winters - zone 9a.

I generally spend more time indoors in Winter.

Seriously, if you ask a question this general, what do you expect? Please try to be just a little bit more specific.

Most of us could give you generic winter care suggestions, to include, wearing thicker socks and carry lip balm ; but your best bet would be to find a local club (join and become actively involved) and ask the members what they do in your area.

Plus, what you do for one type of plant might be very different for another. If you have a tree that grows well outside in your area, you might be able to go without doing anything; however, if you happen to have a tree requiring a winter freeze, you might have to store it in the fridge. There is absolutely no way to tell without knowing a lot more about your trees, your yard, etc/

I live in USDA 7, and my friend Sebastian. We are 5 minutes by car. But to pose two different micro-climate. What applies to me is not true for him and vice versa. Everyone must find their own needs and policies.

I can't think of any "outdoor" trees that can't just stay outside in Zone 9 ( N. Central Fla). Figs, maybe bougainvillea, and other "tropicals" probably need to come inside if temperatures at night consistently reach 40 degrees F.

Bonsai are easy keeping in zones 9 and 10.

Sweaters, not too heavy. Maybe a cardigan. Yes, those are nice for mild winters.
