my neighbors tree was on fire...
yesterday was a beautiful winter day here in s.e. wisconsin, with bright sun and no wind...
so toward the end of the day i went back outside to feel the last of the warmth on my face and let my dog run about...
when i got outside i noticed my neighbors tree was on fire !!!
but not in a bad way...
so i ran for my camera
man o man... i just love that kind of light at that time of day at this time of year
(no phake-o-shop enhancements... ever.)

Great colour contrast!!!!!
Sits I in a cool 86 deg.F and working to a low of 69 deg.F all night, with a gentle breeze............... ah the life
Planted 30 seeds of Shansu J.B.pine see them in 10 days if the seed is still viable, the packet was old in the veggie crisper.
Soaked in warm water 24 hrs. no floaters.
Tomorrow, my nephew and I build a small curio cabinet for his collection of thingees he has made this last three years.
Also have a friend who wants a - green of content painting - can be anything, just shades of green.
Love winter in the hot and humid tropics - not -
Maybe, some kite flying later or shore fishing or hang out with my found stray - Cane' [ also known as can can ] a really short dog who likes to body slam my other pups.
What's a snowboard ?
Can I eat it ?
With curry ?
Later Chilly Willies.
Land of eternal late spring.
Khai........

Yeah, that white fluffy stuff turned into wet and heavy! 'Red night' was not a 'sailor's delight' for us!

One of the great secrets of photography is recognizing a moment and taking advantage of it. Beautiful photo; thanks for taking the picture and sharing it with us.

yeah david, it sure did... we ended up getting over a foot
(to which buffaloians would say: big deal )
thanks vance... and yeah, when i say i ran for for camera, i RAN for my camera as i know that kind-of light dont last and it didnt.
i see that gnarly old behemoth of a city tree every day but have never seen it like that.
(couldnt do much about composition and only had my pea-shooter accessible)

Re: my neighbors tree was on fire...
The main part of that storm did hit south of you, it really dumped on me. 20 inches or more of snow, plus the wind piled a 4 foot drift over my back door. I think I'll have another cup of coffee and forget about leaving the house today.
I live about 20 miles due south of Kevin.
Really love the photo. Reminds me of a photo exhibit I saw as a kid, Robert Maplethorpe's "A Perfect Moment",
Capturing that moment of shear beauty.
