you are welcome Luc!
The award from China was the only one issued. And it was selected by (Master -Su Fang) President of the Chinese Penjing Association. He said it is the highest award given in China. And only the second award given outside of China, the first one was in Indonesia, So I guess this is a very prestigious award.

Your attention to detail is second to none.
It still amazes me how fast you can develop your material.

Re: Philippine National exhibition 2014
Thank you Paul.
Next year around April and May we will have another major show. If you are planning to come again to the Philippines next year maybe you could schedule it in that month, I'll keep you posted.
BTW, I still consider my bonsai entries posted here in the young stage and will still develop their full potential in two to three years.

jun

the trees and displays are, as usual, simply astonishing !
i'd love to someday see some of these in person...

BLACK SCISSORS sounds like bonsai revolutionaries in the same way that MANO NEGRA are musically revolutional !!!

With Mr. Su Fang, the President of China Penjing Artists Association, we are working on the plan in forming the “Black Scissors Club”, a new international platform of friendship for creative bonsai artists with new movement spirit…who dare to create, dare to express and dare to be different in freedom !
"Black Scissors" is a spirit, spirit of respective friendship, spirit of enthusiasm to explore new ideas, spirit of freedom to create and to express, spirit of motivation to promote and to share creativities, the spirit to be the "Black Scissors Artist".
Hopefully this new club will be declared next year in another colossal bonsai event in China. The concept is in process, but almost confirmed that we will publish our own “Black Scissors” magazine in bilingual to be circulated internationally.
For this, we request everyone to prepare their best bonsai creation; when we say best, it doesn’t mean only the bonsai quality, but also the concept and the creativity of presentation. It should be something unique, different but aesthetically beautiful; not only nice to see but should be motivating in inspiration as well. We will select 100 best creations for the first edition of the magazine, and those whose bonsai are selected will be entitled “The 100 Black Scissors Bonsai Artist”.
At the moment, the Black Scissors spirit, with the 2-fingers pointing down greeting sign, is spreading through KOSBI (Komunitas Seniman Bonsai Indonesia/ Indonesian Bonsai Artists Community) I initiated and declared last month during the IBA&CB 2014. We launched the KOSBI Sister Community and there have been 18 bonsai organizatioin from 16 counties joined the program....and supported by WBFF.

Sifu,
[chuckle ]
Black Scissors, starting to sound like a Sir Run Run Shaw movie [ just teasing.]
Are things so bad for you guys that you have to - dare to express, create, and be different?
Well best of luck and hoping to purchase and read your magazines.
I am too boring and common to be different -
With admiration.
Until.

precisely Khaimraj.
Black scissors was formed to create new platforms for creative artists who most of the time were "discriminated" upon or received negative commentaries from traditionalists. As a result most of the creative artists tend to shy away from the general bonsai public. and their precious ideas and works confined to their own gardens/home and were never appreciated. With the new community formed they will have access and communication with their fellow "out of the box" thinkers and together they can show that bonsai is not just a regular craft but a serious branch of "Art". With this step we can move forward and avoid being stagnant, at the same time we can express more as a community and not as individuals.
"Black scissors" ideas and objectives were received with great excitement even in conservative bonsai cultures like China and Japan.
Just like in any other field of art, "Avant-garde" artists need to push the boundaries of what is accepted. remember the works of Picasso and Vincent van Gogh, were outcasts and seen as "unaccepted" during their time, but they were decades ahead of their time and did not bother what the majority says.

jun

Re: Philippine National exhibition 2014
L.L.B,
thanks for the reply. I am not sure what is a Traditionalists, as there is so little real information on Bonsai / Penjing before say the 1800's.
I have a funny feeling however, that this is as the cycle of life goes, attempts at change after so many years.
[ Fashion runs on a twenty year cycle ]
Well, I wish you guys all the best!!!
I am off to explore Holograms, I have an idea for recording the optimum moments of a tree, and want to see how far science has gone or how much has to be invented.
As well as securing an acre of land for the construction of a museum.
This will be seen as - rebellious - by the powers that be on our side, since it is a first -
Once again, best to you guys.
Later will be greater.

Too many to post Jun, I'd rather post quality bonsai...
BTW, "unfortunately", Black Scissors Club will only for those who not only dare to create, but who can prove with their creation.
But not for those who suffers Sicosnipophobia, Chirophobia, Aichmophobia, Symbolophobia, Cenophobia, ofcourse.....
