collecting boxwood

Hi,
I have found a boxwood specimen that i want to dig out of ground and get into a training pot this fall/winter.
I had already took it down to a workable height back in the summer and since have seen alot of new growth.
Question is when , here in va 22556 , would be a suitable time to dig it up?

February or early March probably would be best, depending on what kind of a winter we have in the east.
