a pot for my itsey bitesy hosta
recently, I've fallen in love with the tinest variety of hostas. Most pots I've found will accomodate quite the numbers of them.
But what about one proportional that will highlight just one?
Kora, you asked about dimensions in another thread. How's 2 inches wide, 2 1/2 inches long, and 1/2 inches high? What got to me was it's perfect proportions. Not the usual small diameter but deep depth.
I collect pots from a northwest artist , sharon muth. She owns and operates Bonsai Northwest along with her son John, in Seattle.
Yesterday during a visit, she suggested I open up my hand while gesturing that she had something cupped in her hand. I could not believe what I was seeing! I turned it over to look for her mark and it was there! It had come in with a collection of trees from someone getting out of the hobby. She set it aside for me, knowing I would want it! Sharon hasn't made pots in decades. Most of the stuff I collect of hers is from the 70's.

I want them to sleep for the winter, like all my other landscape hostas. I'm in the process of downsizing and having a greenhouse put up to store touchier stuff during winter of which I hope to include them.
appreciate you posting.....here's some of the names of my tiny stuff.....
Tiny tears, cherish, hime choboshi, pendora's box, sultana, hare's ear.

cool names !
i dont know the name of mine, so i'll just make one up...
howzabout: sally's wings ?
your winters are far milder than ours, but my landscape hostas are "native"
so i reckon i'll put mine down for a winters nap too...
i just re-designed my garage to accommodate the barrage of sleeping guests this winter
(i'll post before and after pics one of these days)

I use a mix of fine turface and some potting soil about 60/40. During the winter I keep this one in my unheated garage. Last winter it was down around 0F and a bit below for extended periods and it grew back fine this spring.
