Jasminum sambac, Arabian jasmine Jasmin10

Difficult to achieve good ramification, unruly growth, leaves reluctant to reduce in size, sporadic and short-lived flowering/flowers....but I still enjoy this one after several years.  The fragrance is heavenly once the flowers fully open.  For a long time I thought it was a Jasminum officinale, just recently confirming that it is instead an Arabian Jasmine.

Bravo Tom! I had one of these for a few years, but I passed on it as a bonsai subject for all the reasons you mention and add to that that it is a fairly tender tree, but done the less I'd get another if I could find one just for the delicious flowers. Thanks for sharing, Rick

As has happened to most of us I think at some point with our trees,  this tree experienced some dieback, thereby necessitating restyling....I think in retrospect this will eventually be an improvement, as the species is a vining cultivar, and hopefully when it flowers again down the road, the flowers will be displayed in a better fashion.

Tom,

if it is scent you like, try the Indoor Oak [ was Nicodemia diversifolia - Buddeljia [ spelling ?] ]

The scent comes out at night and is divine.
Happy Bonsai-ing.
