A special wink to Walter Pall with this Larix kaempferi I bought on the internet.
This is a yamadori taken in spain.

It's not very clear from the photo you've posted, but couldn't you carve the jin-ten a bit so that the impression of inverted conicity is less apparent?...

Ok, I would suggest that you think about reducing some of the Jin above the foliage and thin it in the area below where the branching begins. I'll see if I can do a virt for you.

Nice tree GP, with many excellent qualities.

I really must look at aquiring a Larch myself sometime.

If I could make one observation however it would be that to my untrained eye at least the original planting angle (as shown in the second photo) was slightly more pleasing. Some how when the tree was gently leaning over the otherwise rather straight trunk seemed to flow more naturally into the jin section.

On the other hand, it's only a slight difference and the more upright position certainly shows off the nebari better.

Great tree either way.

Yes the original planting angle was more beautiful but it is difficult to do better because the roots.
This is the first bonsai pot ...
