I see this was your first post to the forum, so welcome! Hopefully you'll be a regular participant.

I like what you've done with the upper-right part of the tree, but am not sure about the branch that comes down on the left. Looks a little heavy to me and the alignment of the branch with the upper branch makes almost a perfect T shape. I did a quick photoshop to see what it looks like without that branch:

Just something to consider. Obviously the foliage mass will be further developed, maybe a branch can eventually be brought down to the lower left from the upper segment to give some of the original effect without that heavy branch segment?

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I tend to agree with Chris. But, and this is a long shot, is it possible to take a picture from the other side? Just a hunch I have.

Good luck with it PBH.

That's not bad (Cram's virt)...anything to break up that "T" shape would be helpful. Also, with all the wrapping and wire on the trunk/branches, it's hard to tell exactly how thick each is. The original image gives the impression that the lower left branch is very thick which is part of what I was reacting to...probably will look more in scale when the wrappings come off.

Hi PBH,
welcome here on IBC. That's a brave transformation that you made on your Pine. And I do understand what you were aiming for, but there is something wrong with the balance on your Pine. When you tilt the tree to the right, like you did, the left bottom branch becomes to long and heavy, creating a dis balance in your otherwise good design. If hope you dont mind, that I made a virtual of your pine that I would like to show. I used all your branches and sticked to your design, I only changed the angle of your tree to the left side, instead of to the right side. Something like my virtual could make your design more balanced. And that left branch looks more in it's place and it now helps to almost push up the whole tree upwards.

Just a idea! Smile
Hope to see the progress of this tree in the future! Very Happy
Cheers,

thank's for your interest!
I understand the probleme of balance on my tree.
there's not a lot of things to modify to regulate.
I really see a good evolution of my pine on your virtual Hans, I'm happy to see what i wasn't far on my first transformation!
I also like cram's virtual but i think it's too "minimalist" for the moment, that's the first tree of this type witch i work and my competences are very limited!

That was the very view I'd wondered about previously.

I like what you are doing and look forward to pics of the tree's continuing development.  Very Happy

Lovely upper half. Too much of a mound of soil at the bottom.

I second that opinion: I would think about jinning it out maybe.

Based on Cram's virt:

But you've done a lot of very good work so far anyway.

Very nice tree. I would have liked to have seen it against a neutral background that did not clutter up the image. From this point of view it seems to have a slight reverse taper.
