Parson's juniper
I don't do many juniper -- at least not "large" ones -- and with all the nice junipers appearing in the Discussion forum, I hesitated before offering the one large juniper I'm working on. It is a Parson's juniper that was given to me. I guess I've been working on it a bit more than 2 years now.
Anyway, since junipers don't seem to say much to me, suggestions are solicited -- as are ideas about pots, once it gets beyond the mica pot stage.
This one has two sides. Period.

Re: Parson's juniper
My opinion: Front #2
Reason: The shari brings interest to an otherwise dull, straight section of the lower trunk.
Regards, Lee.

I like this tree and think you could experiment with rocks, slabs, and crescent for pot choices. Both sides look good; you could always create a shari on #2. A nice classic unglazed (deeper) drum pot might look good too.

JIM,,With my eyes first pic looks like the foliage is growing to the back.. second pic the foliage looks more uniform... when i have a slanting tree,,i always want it to the right go figure.. i would keep this tree in some kind of round pot..just my opion..anyway it looks good.. take care john

Re: Parson's juniper
I'd like to see this in a crescent pot. I prefer the first picture as the front. I'd like to see it with two foliage pads, quite wide and perhaps overlapping. I'd consider jinning the third foliage tuft at the end.
