A topic of mine in The Lounge, ended with a picture of the first ever raw shaping of this acer campestre by pruning. pre-prebonsai material, showing it anyway to enjoy it on a not-so-cold yet windy and wet evening here. Anyway it should have been posted here instead of the lounge, so thats why i open it as a new topic. Its a rather young tree, never had wiring, only grow-prune method for some years, before that it was only outgrown fieldstock/nursery.
I so desperately wanted to have another campestre, and will look out for older material too.

picture before, after pruning (will continue in 2013 after first growth hardens, and select maybe even further), and virtual just to show i want it to have a more natural look.

Roots are not really all that good, and i havent seen whats underneath. I'm aiming at some rootgrafting too.

any reply welcome, or enjoy watching.

You seem to have a very clear plan for the future of this tree, I find it hard to think that far ahead.

yes i know, i get that a lot, sometimes it does not work out :-). Jun once told me in a topic that planning ahead for 20 or 30 years was a good thing, and try to stick to it the best way you can but you're right...with what the tree will bring me. I know when there will be no die back by next spring, all stumps will sprout new shoots; its a campestre ;-). And if there's dieback i'll have to see if i can still use it...because of that risk i left enough stumps/branches so if one fails... thats what i hope at least. The virtual is no sketch of refined tree, its tha basics i want to look that way, lets say 5 years approx
