The head off the tree is dead this winter, building is in progress .[img]

the leaves are still large, but it is very difficult thing to reduce their size because it takes repot the tree every 2 years

Thats not a bad size compared to a full size leaf. It looks like you also having a problem reducing the stem of the leaf. Do you think that is going to reduce or stay the same? I know that sweet gum have the same problem, Jim said that his reduced, but only after quite a bit of time.

I think it's impossible to reduce the size leaves, at least for long time , when you repot the tree, leaves grow.So, it's better to create bonsai "at 4 hands"
But the species of my tree is acer platanoides, false sycamore , may be that's a reason .
