Simpson's Stopper, Simpson Stopper, Twinberry Myrcianthes fragrans
Stopper is a Florida native. I won this tree in a five dollar club raffle some years ago but yesterday our club visited Robert Pender's Dragon Tree Bonsai Nursery in Palm City, Florida and I noted that he has these for sale as a bonsai subject.
This is a long view of the tree, it is probably about three feet (one meter) tall.
This shows the fruit which starts green but turns red as it ripens.
Another feature is the trunk. The tree sheds bark as it grows so you get this multicolored and textured bark.
