Emergency Black Pine Repot! Advice needed!

So one of my mature black pine shohin was knocked off my benches yesterday, breaking the pot and seriously mucking up the rootball. Candles are at about an inch and a half now. I repotted it ASAP, but since I've never reported a black pine out of season, Id really like some tips on aftercare! Should I whack the current candles now, a few weeks early in my climate, to conserve strength, or leave them, to help build root mass? Move to shade? Average highs hitting mid 90s now, so it may be going dormant?
At a loss. Don't want a loss!

"mucking up the rootball" doesn't paint a clear picture.

How long was it out of the pot? Did it dry out totally?

Was the roots disturbed much? Did you reduce it or just slip potted again?

We need details...

This pine was repotted this spring, so, needless to say, the soil dispersed from the Outside of the rootball, where it was changed, almost entirely when the pot smashed to the deck. Some feeder roots broke off that I could see, and I suspect more within. That being said, the half of the soil that wasn't changed this go round was undamaged and did not dry out.
I removed roots that were obviously broken, and then slip potted it into a slightly larger pot, replacing the soil that was lost carefully.

I am still learning about JBP so cannot help much but based on what I've read, they are very hardy (pine standard wise). With what you described, it should be fine but let's wait for the experienced members to chime in. You may want to consider sending Brian Van Fleet a PM.

Thanks for the referal poink. Brian was, in fact, exactly the mix of advice and comfort I needed! Andre, as far as bonsai is concerned...the moon it is. Zone 7b is America, mid southern Mississippi, specifically, and 2 days into Summer.

Regarding your tree. I think with summer and heat, there wont be any problems.
me thinks. Then again I can get to grow pines, so maybe my advice should be regarded as...... 'fishy'
