tree ident please

Anyone in the New Jersey area know what this tree is? It's about 40ft tall and the flowers are sweet smelling. It has small purplish berries in late summer.

looks like an American Wild Black Cherry tree to me. (Prunus serotina)

One of my many special powers actually. 
A facebook friend from NJ posted it and asked for an identification. I thought some sort of Prunus from the pictures and from her description but didn't know which it was likely to be.
