biseki
I found a couple of definitions of this term.
The one i like best was "river stone." But, some definitions seemed to say that the stones were artificial in some way?

Hi Billy
This stone comes from Gifu, japan..The stone is found in the ground, never rivers, as far as I know. It is not allowed to collect theese Chrysantemumstones any more.
It used to be normal and respected to polish theese stones, and also to display them raw.
Your stone have great old japanese tradition....worth collecting.
Kind regards Yvonne
