I've posted a couple of these before. This is a quiet country lane that has yielded some of the best Elm bonsai in my collection. Nothing to see but a few shoots punching through the grass. The farmer cuts everything to the ground every year.English Elm raft Img_0510

This tree is by far the best one I have collected to date. I was grinning from ear to ear once the weeds and grass had been removed. Photo taken in 2009.English Elm raft Img_0410

This pic was taken last week. Feeding every watering has improved the strength all over. Because of work commitments, I have only been able to leaf prune. Crying or Very sad English Elm raft Img_1622

I love this tree, Will. It's looking like a winner already!

There's a nasty rumour circulating that you'll be at Burrs this year. Course, I don't believe it myself, but I'm taking my little Elm, just in case Wink

Nasty rumour is correct I'm afraid Steve. I am looking forward to it but just hope the language barrier can be hurdled. Very Happy

Being retired means you never get a day off. Evil or Very Mad I managed to fertilize yesterday, and today I pruned & repotted my buttonwood, but the laundry is piling up. Sad

Wow. Fantastic tree. those twisty, tapered little trunks are great. Looks like ramification is coming fast too.

Sack the North? Too bloody late, mate. Maggie Thatcher sacked most of us years ago.

Absolutely fantastic!
I'm a total rafthead, but still I dare to say this will be one of the most beautiful trees in Europe soon.
You seem to have a very good eye for trees in general. I have been very impressed with your other more mature trees.

I wish I'd manage to find material such as this one day...
Would prolly kill it though. Neutral
