Ryan Neil Demo

A very interesting video and what else should you expect. Ryan Neil is the new magician of bonsai coming from the western world. I had the privelege to see him work on a double trunk pinus sylvestris at San Remo at the Annual UBI Congress and he was really fantastic transforming the tree in such a short time. During the workshop at San Remo he was very interactive and the specatators did not even yawn once during the three hour session.

He asked a question which intrigued me. He said "Do you think Kimura is a magician?". This is what I answered. If we define a magician as one who uses tricks of the trade to make you see what he wants you to see (an illusion), than definetely YES Kimura is a magician, since he trasforms a tree using bonsai techniques into an illusion of a tree growing in the wild. And that is bonsai.

Ryan Neil will be the headliner at the Bonsai Societies of Florida annual convention near Orlando from June 10 to 12, 2011

Ryan will also be at the American Bonsai Society/Bonsai Clubs International conference in Louisville, Kentucky on June 16-19, 2011.

Thanks for sharing Neil. The man is soooooo darned clever (IMHO). Oh to have a 100th of the skill he so clearly has.
