Any help for cankerous maple?
Pictured is the trunk of a Sango Kaku Coral Bark Maple. Never mind the beautifuly focused C. obtusa in the background. The tree's in pretty bad shape, I got it for a song and I can't carry a tune in a bucket. Obviously I'm a wiz with a camera also, but can you see the fissures with the brown powdery residue, could be weeping sap? Any remedy for fungus on maples?

Probably not, but you might try a lime sulfur spray (read the label!!!).

Thanks for the reply Jim. Overall, I think the condition is too far advanced to reverse.
