Why not make it a poll?
When you post a new topic, there's an option at the bottom of the page:
Poll question
Poll option
Enter choices and separate them by a line break.
Maximum number of choices : 10.
Of course, the results of such polls are to be taken for what they're worth, but you can have the posters' comments as well as statistics on what seems to the the trend among voters for each question...
Edit: I've just realised that these being open questions, I'm not sure the poll option is the best one.
