SandevBonsai - 2018. Bonsai sessions with Walter Pall
Dear all...
here, I will be posting a series of videos of tree discussions with our unique and inspirational international master Walter Pall
hope you will enjoy the content ...be inspired and learn a lot
I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to listen to this man for days and hours during past years, that I was be able to spend so much time with him...to learn from his 40 years huge experience and enormous charisma. I am proud and I think that I could with all humbleness call him a friend
He was priceless in my bonsai development and extremely inspirational.
I am doing all this with just one reason...because I have a wish to share him with the rest of the bonsai world who didn t have the opportunity to listen his bonsai wisdom in person.
Take some of that magic through these films...
All the best

Seb - this is a very generous "share" and your time is appreciated.
I have had the pleasure of meeting Walter on many occasions, and he was also a guest at my house last month
(he was the guest artist for our annual exhibit)
One of my favorite things about Walter is his willingness to speak what is on his mind.
(and damn the filters ! )
Like you, he has provided me with much inspiration in the 6 short years I have been doing this.
I look forward to watching your presentations above.

Sebastijan, thank you very much for sharing these, they are great. I used to youtube all your old videos with Walter as well like the MEGA beech you have and how to move forward with it.
I also would like to know, do you still have this Spruce? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVOL9yx8vow&index=6&list=PL8i3FDksW7ixoojAABW4r4ShaaMBLBoIA I have to say that this is one of my favorite trees of all time and perfectly captures those types of trees you hike past at the tree line in the alps.
Have a good one!

Hi Sebastijan,
Thanks for posting these videos. I've always had great respect for Walter's styling sensibilities.
Your Oriental Hornbeams are great. I can't imagine why anyone would not like the "Fairytale Style" trees. I love seeing these. Good job! I wish we had some similar material here in the USA.

Thank you so much Sebastijan, I strive toward a more naturalistic style but there is only one Bonsai artist far away from me that understands how to create that image.
You guys collect fantastic material but how on earth do you do branch selectionn in your yamadori, there is a lot of branches, some at the same level, some emerging next to each other, thicker trunks more to the top of the tree, especially in the apexes? The result is fantastic... but how to replicate it?
Your Carpinus bonsai reflect most accurately what I am trying to learn. Ive given demos and talks at clubs and it feels like I am on the eedge of understanding, almost touching the lightbulb moment of seeing how but Im not there. I understand that one can not teach bonsai in 2D, over a photo, but could you possibly make a video explaining how to create fairytale bonsai?
May all the best yamadori find you!
Francois
