just a photo...
...that i am really pleased with, especially considering it was taken with my LG G2 phone
(in researching phones i went with this one because of the camera)
absolutely zero photoshoppery nonsense done with this image...
just golden light, about 10 attempts to get it right, and a bit of luck in being in the right place at the right time

Very nice inversion!
It did take me a little while to work out what you'd done there as well but as Toshiro said beautifully surreal result.

Richard

Nice effect in any case.
nope... "inverted" may be a misleading term...
it is just an upside down image of reflections in a pond, with the trees being on the far side of the pond and the sunset clouds reflected on the water and algae which was much closer to me...
almost ho-hum when right side up
and i do not ever use photoshop... i feel that is cheating...
i restrict myself to that which can be done on a computer must also be possible in a darkroom.

Re: just a photo...
I was teasing a bit knowing that you could flip (invert) the image using Photoshop ( among other options). I like the result.

Re: just a photo...
I clocked it immediately. Really like it, mainly because it is exactly the kind of thing I always look to do in my photos.
The advent of really good phone cameras is far more profound than perhaps we give credit for. I suspect that there are many really good amateur snappers who would never have known they have the eye if they were born BPC (before phone cameras) because they could never take enough pictures or use only the 3 basic tools - crop, zoom and flip to see just how good their shots might be.
Great composition, great interpretation and great presentation - post more.

thanks brendan and good eye
i grew up with photography including some large format work and having my own darkroom etc...
(HUGE fan of w. eugene smith)
and like many of my ilk i was dragged kicking and screaming in protest into the digital age, with cries of:
"its now too easy and anyone can do it !!!... DAMN ! "
but i have since embraced it and only drag out the "good gear" for special events...
my main go-to digital camera is what i call my "pea shooter" - a point & shoot with a lot of manual control:
the water proof shock proof frost proof punk drunk proof olympus tg tough 620
and that is followed by my LG G2 telephonigraphic handheld computer device (aka the THC)
so after all the protest, i find that digital brings some of the excitement and fun back into photography...
and in no small part due to that immediacy of gratification (but i still say phuck fotoshop !!!)
as an aside, my favorite photos are ones that, at a glance, can be misinterpreted as a painting (with no photoshoppery)
sorry for the ramble...

Re: just a photo...
nice photo - and a study guide for how to build a broom style. Look at the branching sequence in the trees. Simple, yet beautiful. Easy formula to follow when building your own broom style bonsai.
