muck mixture ?
What mixture for muck has worked well for you? I've read akadama dust n manure, also yard clay and sphagnum, would one be any better then the other? I get humid summers in my area. Thanks for any advice.

Re: muck mixture ?
I use plain ol' southern red clay, mixed with finely chopped sphagnum and (occasionally) a bit of dried and crumbled horse manure. When you use yard clay (and the manure), though, you have to be resigned to pulling weeds (and a lot of them) for a year or two.

Re: muck mixture ?
For close to twenty years now I have used potters clay, long fiber sphagnum moss and a garden center product called michigan peat (heavy black decomposed peat). Mixed equally by volume to a cookie dough or slightly wetter consistency.

It's a clay based mixture that you use to build a 'supporting wall' on slab, or to support rock plantings' roots.

I use cow manure (not the fresh one)sphagmun moss powdered one and simple soil in equal volume. It worked fine once dried.
