Bonsai Picture Books
Hi fellows!!! Hope everybody is doing fine!!!
Guys I need your help. I want to buy a bonsai picture book. I'm not looking for a book to learn how to grow, care, style or train a bonsai, I'm searching for a nice ilustrated book with great pictures of awesome bonsais. A book that you could put in the main table of your living room and every guest you have in your house would take a look out of curiosity. An inspirational book. Which one do you think is the best? Thank in advance for your answers. Cheers.

Penz,
Both "Fine Bonsai - Art and Nature" by Singer and Valavanis and "Classical Bonsai Art: A Half Century of Bonsai Study, The Creations and Passion of William N. Valavanis" by Valavanis both would fit the bill.
Regards,
Martin

Hi penz. I'd agree with the choices above, especially the Classic Bonsai of Japan. It is what we'd call a "coffee table book" over here - one that is meant to be admired rather than read for practical instruction or information. My copy of Bill V's Classical Bonsai Art: A Half Century of Bonsai Study popped through the letterbox the other day and it too is visually stunning but maybe has more of the "how to" than you are looking for.
It certainly isn't a bad job having to search for good bonsai books.

Bill Valavanis has also published several (3, I think) books of photographs of the trees displayed in the National Exhibitions held in Rochester. Beautiful pictures and descriptions of the finest bonsai in the country. Available at internationalbonsai.com.
