Help with Identifying Flowering Shrub/Tree that was my 1st bonsai.
This has been residing with my parents for many years and I just reacquired it and can not seem to remember what it is. I thought it was some sort of cherry, chokecherry, prunus virginiana...all of these look similar but not exact. Before I do any more work on it I really need to understand what it is and how it grows, so here are some pictures, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Hopefully images work...

Martin I looked closely and I feel you may be right about it being lilac, it is fragrant I'm not sure why that never occurred to me before, will continue to try to identify it, thank you very much for your reply.

Help with Identifying
What do the flowers smell like? If they are somewhat privet-like, it could be one of the oriental dwarf lilacs. Google on images of Syringa and see what matches.
