Re: Stones found in the water ...
Hi guys
I think there is a big diffrence between rest of seaweeds, from when the stone was found, and the tiny algues, that appear on the stone after maybe a year.
The softer stones I now have in daizas, also very usefull for suibans, has theese small algues in the corners, I have not tried to remove them, and I dont see them as a problem...but i would not want the stones to be owergrown by theese algues.
Some of my hard stones also have remains of algues, from the time in the garden, no problem.
My pale yellow mountainstone from spain, has tiny dark lichen, from when it was found...they did not grow bigger in Denmark, but died...I never thought of removeing them, as it would ruin the stones age and patina on theese parts.
Lichen soon becomes quit big in my country, and will soon not look nice on a small mountainstone...it has to do with wrong proportions. On a stone in the garden, does it really look great, but on a small mountainstone indoors, not for me.
kind regards Yvonne

Well Hung those look nice, real nice!
1st is for me a 3 peak Golden Harvest Mountian or Tropical Sunset Island.
Top quality landscape viewing stones for sure,
Great shape, color, size and expansive images.
2nd is even nicer, proportions and view are exactly as in nature.
Anyone one would be blessed to own ether one of these!
and you have both in your collection...

Hello Hung Tran,
Thank you for showing us again some fine stones.
I see soft lines and quietness in these different shapes.
What about the surface of the stones, the look like they are oiled?

Re: Stones found in the water ...
Thanks, Hung Tran! That you maintain the practice as well as the notion of not oiling a landscape-view stone as essential to deep appreciation sets your stones apart.
If there are landscape-view stones to be salvaged from oiling such that they can avoid (or even reverse!) staining & closely hold moisture on their surface (J. mizumochi), it is highly desirable. Oiling will eventually damage any stone's natural translucence & become a vehicle for absorption of debris-creating discoloration. The yoseki practice (both wet & dry, though some enthusiasts misapply the term on this forum) of Japanese suiseki enthusiasts & the hard rubbing/polishing of some traditional Chinese stone enthusiasts are particularly valuable in assuring stones maintain beauty into the future. Cleaning a newly found stone with water & mechanical-picking or soft-brushing (or harder brushing including rotating-steel-brushes for some clay-encased limestone) is a practice once lauded by Joe Davies-- among the first influential & informed enthusiast on this (IBC/VSL mail list) Stone forum. It was excellent advice.
Others might encourage acid-dipping as a practice for cleaning (& sometimes sealing) stones where holding moisture on the stone's surface is not essential.

Re: Stones found in the water ...
Well Hung! if there are cut stones here? you certainly fooled me!...
If and when you say natural, and do not mention!, that their cut!...
then I don't bother looking, just fully enjoy the very beautiful shapes,...
and most of all the feels of majesty, vastness, strength, grandeur...
As if I was were right there standing looking out at the mountains,...
with the wind in my face and the sun at my back, drinking water from my canteen...
Lots of fun for me, for sure!, so if in a suiban, in a daiza or in your hand...
Cut or not cut! I would not throw anyone away! that's for sure!...
Thank You for sharing your treasures...

Re: Stones found in the water ...
Hello Yvonne ,
Stonener _ My Friend ,
and all Members IBC Forum ,
I have a right to be angry ... because of all the stones in the page 3 are all intact stones , are all natural and NO CUT ( You can enjoy it more quiet if you do not guess wrong !!! )
Of these , 3 members is NO OIL . The rest , I am in every experiment ... to get the oil out of them ... because at earlier , I was OILING on the surface of them !!! But now , I understand and deeply regrettable ...
You will see that what I have said above is TRUE ... when I invite you to see the images of the bottom of them ...
I need to prove this to the TRUTH .
Thank you very much .
Sincerely ,
Hưng - Trần .

Re: Stones found in the water ...
Hi Trantanhung
You should not be angry, but take it as a misunderstanding...you have said some things, and i asked one more time...you gave your answer.
You say, there are no cut stones, and I belive you...why not?
It was your answer, that made me ask again.
Inglish can soon be misunderstood...and insteadt of being angry, ask again like i did.
kind regards Yvonne

Re: Stones found in the water ...
Hello Hung Tran,
Thank you for showing.
Lovely color, the stone gives me an image of compressed energy and does me examine power;
Those have real power who do not need to use it, they see the path of free energy.
(BTW, in the discussion about cut stones: is translation of what is written, taking his own direction?
Maybe it is not about rudeness but excitement only, to see, study and appreciate beside of the displayed stone in a daiza or suiban, the whole stone as well, it contributes a lot to our understanding.)
Lovely to feel your great hart in the stones you show.
