A jitta for Ohioians
I was over looking at my friend Jason's maple burl jittas. So I ordered one and suggested I would like to have the light wood stained abit to tone down the light color. While i was there I saw an odd toned one he was playing with and asked him where this came from? A buckeye (tree) was his reply. I kinda liked it, so i took it home with me. My childhood was spent in ohio, so it had some sentimental value for me. I could see it under a nice kusamono...

Hey I once bought a clock that was made of similar material,
when I was in high school at a local head shop,
stored on the garage wall forty years today 12-12-12,
doesn't run, because I gave up on batteries.
Your picture gave me an idea...

I must have half a dozen redwood slabs that previously had been wall clocks. as the clocks died and they became gatage sale items,
I filled the clock cavities with wood putty and then place the pot over the affending repair.
While i was in ohio as a resident, I often hard from my out of state friends that Buckeyes were "useless nuts" but the trees make nice jittas anyway
