"Änkor Wat"
HI IBC.
I would love to share one of the things I am working on lately...some of my latests projects requires great amount of time and dedication, this one takes several weeks to get to this point...and still only 50% accomplished.
I started with these rocks without moss, now I am still detailing the ruins and the moss are almost covering the rocks.

...It would take I think 5 more years to finish everything, including the natural roots growing on the ruins walls and columns...
No concrete plaster or cast here only natural rocks, as concrete got unnatural feel to it even with moss.
regards,
jun

L.L.B,
you obviously have ability, once again, go with traditional sculpture, find your way to the Ateliers in Florence,Italy.
Be careful, you don't burn out.
Stay healthy.

Excellent!
I would love to see this develop especially the roots once they matured and firmly clasping the walls of the ruins.

Angkor Wat (sic)
"Angkor Wat is the largest Khmer temple complex in the world. The temple was built by King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century in Yasodharapura, the capital of the Khmer Empire, as his state temple and eventual mausoleum. Wikipedia
Construction started: 1125
Address: Vithei Charles de Gaulle (Road to Angkor Wat), Siem Reap, Kingdom of Cambodia, Siem Reap 82720, Cambodia
Phone: (0)63 764444
Function: Place of worship
Architectural styles: Dravidian architecture, Khmer architectural style"
Angkor Wat is also famous for the Ficus roots enveloping the ruins. Here is a picture of what Jun is replicating in miniature.

Thanks Yvonne.
I made ( and still making the ruins ) the detailing works is not a joke...hehehe. I almost put this project in the shelves because I realized in the middle of the construction the huge task ahead. I did some research first on the ruins and the trees sorrounding Ankor wat. and made some sketches, and I thought it was easy but I underestimated the project.
before the "Mountains" were totally hollowed out.

during construction

looking for the right tree...

Don't worry Yvonne I do everything by myself,,,because I don't want to blame somebody if things didn't work out well.hehehe.

PS. In real life i am a builder.

jun

Now ficus shows all its majesty...
Thanks Alain.
Not sure though if this will qualify as a penjing...some people might question it, if I refer to my work as penjing.

Jun , your talent has no limits i think . Imagine what your going to be making in 20 years time . Keep it up. Always inspiring.
My son has a new friend who is living here from the phillipines , while playing in the garden yesterday he came up and asked me about growing a bonsai , so i sent him home with a tree . Lets hope it inspires him to carry on from an early age .
