I took those pictures at the hatertse vennen near nijmegen.
The ground here is pure sand and trees develop slow.
I love it there, especially at sunset.

Ten years ago this Easter I purchased this live oak. Fortunately, the property includes a house so I don’t have to live in my car!
My neighborhood was formerly the grounds of a plantation on the western outskirts of town, and this is one of the many trees here that dates to that time. This tree had room to spread and is much wider (130 ft) than it is tall. It covers the back part of the property like an umbrella and the branches hang to the ground in the yard behind me.
