Wrightia: firework

One little niggle..... Is it possible to remove the weeds around the base? They mask, a little, the interesting base and draw my eye

its beautiful, and i know it smells great

It is not the weeds where it is the germ, then I will pull out as root.

That's a wonderful tree - wish I had one like that!!

I brought back a wrightia cutting and seedpods from my holiday in Thailand some 3 weeks ago. Although the cutting (in water, under light) doesn't seem to do anything, it doesn't look like it's giving up on me. I have sown the (still fresh) seed and put them under plastic, on the radiator. I've never been successful with wrightia. If I wait until spring, the seed probably lost its viability, but right now, it might be too cold. Any tips anyone, for trying this in wintery Belgium?

Wrightia can not live in the cold. It only lives in the tropical

I don't understand what you mean. The green material on the trunk looks like moss. Are you saying the green material on the trunk are seedlings of new Wrightii?

and to Rob "it looks like moss" (the green stuffs on the trunk). I believe they are suckers because I had one that put out a lot of suckers.

I think he means they're suckers on the roots Rob.

Durastone nursery in Vero Beach has plenty for sale.

Hi, I have 4, 2 same mini variety. I believe (hit me if I'm wrong) that my bigger trees were collected and continue to sucker like crazy all around the base...and down the exposed roots...all over the lower part. My smaller ones were probably grown from seed or cuttings so they don't. One possible answer?
