New knife.
Hello there.
Let me just start saying, that this is not a thread Im starting to brag about my work!
Its non related to bonsai as you see from the topic. I just wanted to share one of my newest knives.
The work could be much better, but im satisfied. But the reason for me posting, is that I want to share the strange but incredible
material I have used on the handle. I have seen it a few places, but only on one other knife.
Its strong and durable. Its like working on medium/hard wood and it polishes nicely.
What do you think? I think im obsessed with it.
In its sheath.
Cheers
Storm.

Is the handle made of wood or some other thing?
I can't figure it out.

Re: New knife.
Its built up from layers of thin aluminiumplates or other metals that you can wrap in the same way.
Then its cast in a substance Im not sure what is. Its colored red, and its transparent. So it has a 3d effect, and you can actually see through the handle some places. You get it in other colors too. Im not entirely sure of the process, but this is what I think it is atleast.
Hope this helps.

Re: New knife.
Damascus Mora w/ celluloid handle? Very nice! I worked with a lot of celluloid before that looked almost like this but none with aluminum sheet. You did really good!

Thanks. Yes, I made the sheath.
I buy leather in a light brown color, the blades, and the blocks for the handle. The rest on the knives I do myself. Ive also made a few blades myself, but dont have all the equipment yet.
