Hi what ingredients do you use for your Kokedama and at what ratio???

Hello,
I basically use the garden soil, sphagnum moss, pine bark, charcoal, sand...the substrat that we use for horticulture. It depends on the accent species, for the black pines. I used 2/5 garden soil with yellow clay, 1/5 horticlture soil, 1/5 pine bark, 1/5 charchoal.

My technique is a bit different from schools making kokedama in Japan. I recreate a substrat that allows to the green moss to develop naturally with the accent plants. In this way, we have a more natural composition. We also have a natural green moss 'prairie' effect and it will be easy to maintain.

The immensity of Nature is almost borderless. The art of Kokedama highlights the simple beauty of nature in a free way from an anonymous grass to a well respected tree. I use of some mud figurines from Penjing to give us the idea of the scale and to emphasize the content of the general composition.
