Hi Chris;
There's some stunning Welsh trees on show there. Shame I couldn't make it this weekend. Hope there's more to come...!?!

BONSAI THE CELTIC WAY Empty More from the second day.

BONSAI THE CELTIC WAY _1070311

Keith gave us further details about the upcoming "Bonsai in Wales 2012" National show.

BONSAI THE CELTIC WAY _1070312

John Pitt then gave a very informative and entertaining chat about ramafication of hawthorns.

BONSAI THE CELTIC WAY _1070313

Chris Thomas tried unsucessfully to blend into the blackthorn background.

The group then moved onto discussing a selection of trees.

BONSAI THE CELTIC WAY _1070321

Paul was on hand with a subtle clue. thumbs up

BONSAI THE CELTIC WAY _1070322

Finally, A big thank you to all those that took part in this great happening / event.

Chris what a great idea. ThumbsUp
Thank you for having the vision to bring all these bonsai mad individuals to share and spread the bonsai bug.

I had a very enjoyable weekend, sharing ideas and a great many laughs with new and old bonsai chums.
I also learnt a great deal and look forwards to putting these shared gems of information into practice in the very near future.
Luckily someone was keeping detailed notes. scratch

Thank you Pavel.
I think I can safely say that everyone attending went home at the end with at least a little more bonsai knowledge and a smile.
As we have all come to expect, Chris put together an excellent event that showed it's not what you have, but what you share that is important.

Well I have just managed to sit down and find some time to say thanks to all involved in making the weekend so interesting. Simon Temblett, John Pitt, Jerry Wheeler, Malcolm and Manuel, all worked throughtout the two days giving brilliant seminars.Malcolm and Manuel's session on air layering was really good, as much as we thought we knew about this technique they managed to come up with some little gems and they way the worked together reflects there long friendship within this disipline.
There was plenty of wise words on soil mixes and refinement of blackthorns and hawthorns by Simon and John along with a masterclass on pot choice by John. Jerry gave a great demo on silk carving.
The Q and A with the demonstrators at the end of each day gave everyone a chance to ask anything they wanted.
This was an experiment to run an event in a way that held people's attention for all of the two days, with a rolling program every hour. these quick sharp seminars made sure that the public were constantly interested and the artists were not over worked.
From the reaction of the people in atendance (33 on the first day and 31 on ther second), I think it worked

Thanks agian to everyone involved and we might just do it all again next year!
