Re: Development of Banksia ericifolia
That's a good story, and how long did it take to get there?
BTW is the cylindrical thing in the middle of the canopy in 3rd photo down a fruiting body?

I love these progression photos. That has turned into a really nice tree. Good job! As usual, I'm curious about it's size (height).
Had to look up this species as I'd never heard of it. Really interesting flower spikes - does it bloom much as a bonsai?. From the photos I've seen, I'd guess the spikes are fairly large relative to the size of the tree...

coh,
The height is 70cm ( 27.6 inches) x 90cm wide ( 35.4 inches )
It has flowered every 2 years and currently has 3 flower spikes which have not opened yet. The flowers are large as on most Banksia.

It's been a really nice development, good vision. What did he say the faults were?

Re: Development of Banksia ericifolia
Tom,
Ryan had said that their was going to be a problem were I had let 3 branches develop from 1 point. This, I hope to start correcting in our summer months this year.
Also the lack of movement in a lot of branching. Not sure how I will achieve this. I suspect that I will have to remove a lot of the top and start again with the new branches. This would take about 2 or 3 seasons to achieve.
Regards
Peter
