In 2003, my friend Ron Heinan made a division of a huge flowering quince I had pointed out to him. In 2005, he sold it to me. The tree has been through a number of iterations since then, all variations of the clump. This year, I finally felt it had come into its own. There are plans for the future, of course, including getting more flowers, and increasing ramification. Comments welcome.

I hope you enjoy my tree.

very nice!

If it were mine the thick straight trunks would come off and i would wire the younger whips to give motion to the tree as it ages.

I like clump style more so then single trunk. kabudachi style offers more blooms an interest. Smile

That's a really nice base and the contrast between the pink flowers and fresh green leaves is beautiful. I do kind of agree with Dick about those straight trunk/branch segments, they don't seem to "mesh" well with the rest of the structure.

I'll keep those thoughts in mind. I have at least one other front for this tree, and the straight trunks appear differently in those views. This is the "flowering front." However, having said that, the thing I like about those thick, straight trunks is that they make a very strong contrast with the lighter branches.
