Cypress scale?
There are white dots on my Cupressus sempervirens. I assume it's cypress scale, but it could be an aphid (I doubt). I had it before. I sprayed twice with Ortho Systemic and it went away, but now it's back. Need suggestions for how many times to spray, and at what interval. I'm assuming I need to spray at least three times, 7 to 10 days apart, unless someone has different information.

Cypress scale?
I used the imidacloprid drench recommended on another thread, and sprayed three more times (about 10 day intervals) with Ortho, & it seems to be gone.

Can you blast them with a garden hose.
If not then
I would try a systemic. I have only had scale once on my buttonwoods. The only safe way I found to kill was a 1 hr. Submersion in water. Buttonwood do not like any pesticides with oil as the suspension agent. I am not sure how sensitive tour tree is. But I do know the major cause is in a humid still air environment. Once I figured this out the problem was over.

Cypress scale?
No, a blast from the garden hose would destroy the trees. These are young seedlings, and right now they are indoors. And scale are stuck tight to their host. The cypresses did not seem to be harmed by either insecticide.
