Fighting with the Missus Empty Fighting with the Missus

Post  Jay Gaydosh Fri Jun 26, 2009 8:42 pm

I have a small yard, so I can't plant everything I find that I want to grow to the proper size.

Last year I found two flowering cherry trees at a local nursery, they were 12 feet tall, well developed and VERY CHEAP! thumbs up

So I planted them in the corner of my yard with the intention to air layering several trees off of them before I finally bonsai'd the base. This spring they flowered quite nicely, now my wife won't let me air layer them, or dig them up. Sooner or later they will have to go (they are under our house power line Shocked ) Until they, they look just fine where they are.

What can you do! Laughing

Fighting with the Missus Empty don't chop down the cherry tree

Lets see, any time my wife takes sudden interest in my gardening I become instantly suspicious. My glands swell up with little horns that poke out of my forehead that emit a pungent smell. It could have something to do with a new car or house needs painting.
So far your situation seems very manageable forbey. I would give anything to be able to grow a cherry tree. Turn that tree into a yard "bonsai". Maintain it at a height and shape that suits everyone. It might be worth more as a sculpted tree some day. Neutral
