Has anyone ever experimented with anything like this?
I found this at a plant product supplier site while looking for Turface.
Has anyone tried it or something like it?
BONZI (paclobutrazol)
Bonzi produces plants with shorter internodes, more
branching, improved root development and deeper
colour. It is taken up quickly by stems and roots with
complete absorption occurring within minutes of
application. The effects are long lasting in the plants
allowing for fewer applications. Registered crops
include numerous bedding plants in plug trays, cell
packs and pots.

Well Kevin
At a price point of $380 dollars a gallon, I think I'll just stick with bud pinching.

Back when I grew plants in a commercial greenhouse we used a product called "B-Nine" which did the same thing. We used it on poinsettias, chrysanthemums, and most of the bedding plants we grew. It only would affect growth for a short time. For example, we would apply it three or four times during the 5 or 6 months it took to grow a poinsettia. I don't think such products would be that helpful on bonsai trees.
