Don't let anyone tell you . . .

That trees don't grow in the winter. (And it's not over yet.)

Nice root growth.

Actually, most arborists tells me to transplant trees during fall/winter to help the root establish before spring. This is for our construction projects though and not for bonsai. I assume the same applies as long as the roots don't get exposed to cold too much.

Yes, but we've had a few sudden very cold spells down here that did damage the foliage on several of my trees.
