edge control - new ji ita boards

working on better outlines and edges for ji ita . the first few are made from 1/8 inch mahogany with serrated edges. the larger unfinished ones are cut from 1/4 inch board, also mahogany. more underway.

Looks like your having way too much fun!

I could see how nicely the shapes could be made to reproduce the shape of an island or state or nation's outline that would look interesting in the right presentation. For example i have an artic willow and an Alaska yellow cedar......
The ones shown, that are what I'd call busy with lots of points and angles would only go with certain trees or kusamono
that have a ramped up feeling (as opposed to relaxed) or for elements of conflict which were done deliberately for a desired result in the display IMHO.
