Pemphis as a charcoal? Empty Pemphis as a charcoal?

Post  jong Mon Dec 12, 2011 2:05 pm

My friends once invited me to go to a place where there were a lot of pemphis. we visited that place and i was so amazed with what i saw-- about more than 20 hectares of land full of pemphis. then i discovered that the residents in that place just cut the pemphis in the area to make a fish pond. and the worse thing is they just use the pemphis as firewood and charcoal. these pictures show that the pemphis were peeled, dried and then make it as a charcoal. then i was hurt with feel sad about it. then i realized that it is better to see a pemphis in a pot rather that seeing it turned into charcoal and sold in the market. we talk to the land owners to stop making pemphis as charcoal and firewood, because they used it as their livelihood. what shall we do about this?

yes, i can buy some those, if only i can afford to buy the whole area, i will buy that land. and make that land as my nursery and natural habitat for pemphis. just like in Japan, they have their nursery of black pines, juniper, etc. because pemphis are unlike other trees that can grow easily. it may take centuries to grow them. that is why the black pine's bark and character and movements of juniper are all in a pemphis, even its age. that is why it is very regretful that the pemphis was made into charcoal.
