This is among the very rare Premna collected with the rock. I especially like the dead branch in the middle which play as a "third bridging element" and give a nice accentuation. Enjoying it...

Ideal ramification with reduced leaves size will be obtained within 3 years...

hi Robert - in your mission book you say you have exported premna to many countries, including some in Europe. Do they post well as a trunk before the branches are formed Laughing Laughing Laughing I live in Britains mildest area so i feel the tree would be fine outside for most of the year and i can make an indoor tropical summer with some nice big lights in the winter.

thanks in advance for any information Wink

Another nice material Robert.

Questions from a student
- Is it necessary for the tree at this stage to put it in a very shallow and small pot? There were frequent suggestions here in the
forum to plant a tree in such stage to put it in a huge planting box or container.
-Will a big container slowdown the leaf reduction of most tropical species?
-Is such technique applicable only for our tropical climate and as such, is not applicable for tropicals in the colder climate

regards,
jun study

Hi Jun,

Yes, normally we need a large training pot to have a quicker growth; but I am not worried with Premna because they grow so quick in our climate and we need to repot, roots prunning every 6 months, so with this pot, there will be only few months difference and no effect on the leaves reduction.

But ofcourse if you need to grow a very thick branch, then I'd suggest to put them on the large training pot.

Pongsatorn,

Your idea is great and not worse than mine, but it's just because I don't want to make windswept. The branch in the middle is dead and I will turn into deadwood; then I will arrange the lower foliation in such a way to fill the gap. Thanks !
