Eternal Sunshine of the spotless greenhouse
After the disaster of last years winter I am taking even more precautions to ensure that my trees get through what looks like another shockingly cold dark winter ahead of us in the UK. I have installed a single 600 watt duel spectrum lamp... the lights come on a 6.00 off at 8.30 then on again at 15.30 off at 18.00 (giving 12 hours of continuous 'daylight') Along with my well established heating bed and frost controlled fan heater I am ready... bring on your worst Jack Frost.
Now where is that police helicopter

Super Tony.
Peter - I think that the sale of a small tree adjusts the account.

nice one Tony - lecky wont be too bad, 5hrs @ 600w, 3kw per day -40p ish, just over £12 a month to ensure the trees remain strong -bargain.
this is going to be the way forward for our better bonsai in winter - i have a 400w metal halide grow lamp rigged up ready for the trees that break dormancy down here too early then get battered by late frosts.
looks great, dont worry if a police helicopter hovers over the house - you're innocent!!
regards Marcus

After they have smashed your door down and rampaged through your house you'll be innocent.
